What Are Local Policing Teams?

Local Policing Teams (LPTs) are dedicated policing teams with specific responsibility for a neighbourhood and they cannot be reassigned to other duties.

The teams provide local policing for local people and are generally made up of a named sergeant, a dedicated ward police constable and a dedicated ward police community support officer.

Local Policing Teams form the core of a crime reduction, reassurance and preventative approach, providing a means of community involvement and an accessible front-line police force.

There are 16 Local Policing Teams in H&F. These teams have been set up in partnership by H&F Council and the Metropolitan Police Service.
