On Wednesday 24 November the Palace Riverside SNT held a Neighbourhood Watch Open Meeting for residents in the ward. The meeting was preceded by a property marking session for bicycles which resulted in a number of bikes now having a secure property identification tag.
The meeting itself was well attended by NHW coordinators and residents. A full agenda covered a wide range of subjects of interest to the audience; from local crime statistics to crime prevention advice and initiatives currently being undertaken by the SNT.
PC Nick Ferris hosted the evening and was well supported by a number of his colleagues. The event showed that there is an interest in the role of NHW in helping neighbourhoods and communities to come together to prevent crime.
