Christmas message 2011

News

Tuesday December 13, 2011

I would just like to thank you very much for all your work and commitment to the NHW cause over the past year. It has been quite a time with a number of changes and challenges, especially with regard to the SNTs and the prevailing economic situation.

It is clear that an effective NHW network in Hammersmith & Fulham will have an important role to play in helping to prevent crime and make our community a safer place to live.

I would like to give you early notice of our annual meeting at the Lyric Theatre which will take place on the Tuesday February 21, 2012, with Councillor Greg Smith (Cabinet member for crime) and Chief Superintendent Lucy D’Orsi (Borough Commander) as our guests. A formal invitation will be sent to you in the New Year.

There is one matter on crime that I have to report and that is the increase in theft from motor vehicles in our borough. The year on year figures have seen a significant increase and I would ask you to remind your members to leave nothing visible in their cars. Indeed we are seeing random attacks ‘on the off chance’ that there may be something in the glove box. As always, please encourage your members to report the crime even if nothing is taken.

In the meantime I wish you a happy festive season with an enjoyable Christmas and New Year.

Chair H&F NHW Borough Association
